Who Am I?
My name is George, I currently reside in North Hollywood, C.A. I also go by "GEO" and homage to Los Angeles greatest hacker & video game developer "NEO".
I am a Software Engineer with a Bachelors of Science in Game Programming. I specialize in general game-play mechanics. I have a wide range of coding skills, from low level C to higher level languages like Python. I also have a strong API Game Engine base, VR, in addition to relating software such as 3DS Max, PhotoShop and more. I really enjoy working in strong teams, that are comprised of both artist and other programmers that have the like minded passion to not only help each other but to create a special gaming experience.
Making games has been a dream of mine since I was a child. The thought of making something that millions of people would enjoy always fills me with an unmatched enthusiasm, and the like minded people I’ve met along the way have shown me what a truly great community game developers have.
I know that making a great game is a team effort, with each person's skill set complementing and assisting others. A great team can effectively communicate problems with each other and find the best resolution. I know that new unforeseen problems arise everyday with a project and it’s incredibly important to work across functional boundaries to quickly resolve them.
I have been very fortunate to have great teachers to help me build my coding skills and understanding of the Game development Industry. I enjoy repaying the community by devoting part time to teaching my technical skills at an accredited Unreal Editor Learning Sites, where I remotely teach Unreal Engine’s Blueprint Visual Scripting to aspiring developers.
I know that my technical skills will be beneficial to your team. I have a deep passion for programming and I’m skilled in C++ with a specialization in 3D Gaming Engines, Unreal 4 & 5 and Unity. I am adept at going in and reading and adjusting lower level backend code, either to integrate a feature that we may need or to fix an issue or limitation. My experience has taught me when to build scalable code, when to quickly and carefully build on top of a previous code base and most importantly, know when to ask for assistance.
